I recently had the most fascinating conversation about vibrators, size, perception, and the Magic Wand. While shopping with a friend for a sexy gift for his wife he expressed some frustration that nothing he had bought her so far had ever worked for her. I was curious so I asked, expecting him to tell me about a checkered past full of bad toy buying. Imagine my surprise when he rattled off a list of well-reviewed high-end luxury vibrators. They’ve been buying quality toys the whole time! I did notice that every toy he listed was small and made this observation and of course, suggested the Magic Wand. His response? “Well, let’s find a small one that works first! Maybe one day we’ll work up to something like that!”
I realized my friend thought that vibrators were like video game challenges – you have to master the little ones before you can take on the big ones – and so would never even think to suggest a large, powerful massager for his wife until she “mastered” something smaller. I explained to him that it doesn’t work that way. The Magic Wand is as big as it is because that is what works for some people and his wife might well be one of those people! Some people love small toys but a lot of folks need the powerful, broad stimulation that something like the Magic Wand Original (or the cordless, Magic Wand Rechargeable) can provide.
In the end he finally understood that the Magic Wand is as big as it is for a reason and that reason is has nothing to do with having to “work up” to it. He got the point and his wife got a Magic Wand.
