As a pretty vocal Hitachi Magic Wand user myself, something I hear a lot is “But it’s so big!” or “Why does it still have a plug? That’s so old fashioned!” Folks are often drawn to trendy new toy shapes they see in shops and think it’s funny that after all these years the Hitachi Magic Wand looks pretty much the same. Also, in a world where everything is rechargeable the idea of being tethered to a cord seems confusing to some.
Today I’m going to talk about all of those things!
Well there are a couple of things to take note of here. First of all, for the rechargeable toy fans, there actually is a rechargeable Hitachi Magic Wand! It has four speeds and a silicone head and is, frankly, fabulous! I take my rechargeable wand on the road with me all the time. I like to use the corded one when I’m at home though. There’s something about knowing my toy will never die mid-use that I just love. Secondly, the corded wand actually received a gentle update in 2013 to make it even sturdier and even more longer-lasting.
Finally, why does it retain that same (admittedly large) size and shape? Because it just works so darn well! Over the last 30 years many different toys have come and gone but the Hitachi Magic Wand (now the Magic Wand Original) has continually provided unparalleled pleasure to users!
The popularity of the Hitachi Magic Wand has never wavered and I think that’s because the things that make it different also make it wonderful!
